National award sponsored by TechScribe

PRESS RELEASE dated 2006-08-09.

The annual Documentation Awards from the Institute of Scientific and Technical Communicators (ISTC, www.istc.org.uk) encourage excellence in the field of scientific and technical publications. TechScribe is proud to sponsor the award for non-technical information.

"The awards recognise the production of clear, concise, effective documentation in commerce and industry," says Gavin Ireland, president of the ISTC.

"Communication comes in many flavours. For high-tech companies, non-technical information is just as important as technical information. With marketing literature we often we see technobabble and a list of product features, rather than benefits to customers," says Mike Unwalla, Principal of TechScribe software documentation consultancy. "This year's conference theme, 'there is a better way' encapsulates the belief at TechScribe, so, we are pleased to sponsor the competition for Class 1b, printed delivery of non-technical information. [Editor's comment, 2006-10-02. An administrative error (not ours!) means that TechScribe is now sponsoring the category for online delivery of non-technical information.]

"The entries will be judged by a distinguished panel of judges who will seek out the very best elements of design and creativity. The winners will be presented with their awards at a ceremony at the ISTC Conference in October," adds Gavin.
